Our Story

Margaret Rose Care took over Warberries Nursing Home in 2011.  Since then, we’ve worked very hard on updating and restoring the building, renovations and building our new extension, and making sure the care we give our residents meets the Margaret Rose Care standards of excellence.

Lorraine and Graham Greenaway - Managing Directors of Margaret Rose Care, have been running care homes since 1995.  Since then, their approach to providing the best possible lifestyle for each resident has remained unchanged, based on our belief that independence, choice, dignity and the highest standards of care are valued above all else.   Lorraine and Graham always invest in the highest quality equipment and furnishings - electric profiling beds are a standard feature for example, in the best and most nutritious food, and in attracting and training staff who share our values and ethics.

As a founder member of the Torbay and Devon Quality Care forums, Graham Greenaway has an ongoing commitment to raising standards of care throughout the region which extends beyond his own homes.   We work with a number of external organisations to develop our programmes of care, for example we care for our residents with dementia by following the wonderful dementia Butterfly pathway from Dementia Care Matters.  More information on this fantastic organisation and project can be found here

Our Homes

Step inside one of our homes and you'll know you've arrived somewhere special.   We strive to make all of our homes a community - a home from home, where our residents can feel comfortable, happy and welcome.   Our philosophy is founded on encouraging independence, preserving dignity, enabling freedom of choice and protecting the privacy of each resident.

We provide a personalised care service which is based on individual needs. From basic care and help with the tasks of everyday living to more intensive nursing care, the needs of each resident are assessed when they come to stay with us, and through regular reviews of their care.  Our staff are highly trained in nursing people with complex medical conditions,  are are dedicated to improving the wellbeing of our residents living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.  Our ongoing training programmes mean our staff are able to care for people with a range of physical and mental requirements.  We are there to 'enable not disable', meaning we want people to be as independent as they can, not regimented to suit staff and professionals.
